A study of government interrogation.
In 2023, the US Government created 10,064 unique forms that it uses to collect information from the public. According to its own estimate, 107 billion individual forms are completed each year, requiring approximately 1.2 million years worth of effort. A dizzying array of things is covered: a feral swine survey, requests for flags used in burials, currency transactions by casinos, petitions for alien entrepreneurs.

A long duration installation video provides an ambient, visceral encounter with this rationality and an accompanying book provides an index and guide to those things which are legible to the state, and implicitly, those which are not.
